Don’t Know What to Call This

I have to sway away from weddings for a second, but don't worry, I have a really good reason. I wrote a post a little while back about this same thing-I wanted to reach out to someone in the off chance that he stumbled across this blog (even though I am pretty certain he does :) ), and let him know that I missed him and was glad to hear he is doing well :) So here I go again with the reason for this post. We created a site with the purpose of fill in all the blanks, giving updates, and basically just trying to communicate back. I wanted to make the site known in an effort to reach out (again) because if there is a possibility of him actually seeing the blog and reading this post, then this is what I want him to know.

PS If you actually do read this: You were right, Apple and Bisco will not allow a doggie in the house. :( But, we are going to be moving sort of soon to a real house with a backyard, so my fingers are crossed that they will allow one then! I want a little Beagle. So cute.

Oh and I definitely thought of you when I made the cake pops, they took like 8 hours to make!!! Insane, but super worth it.They are from Bakerella, which I am sure you have heard of.

Thanks for the engagement letter :) we were super excited to receive it. And yes, tons going on in my life-but that is pretty normal for me, right?

Trying to think of anything else epic to tell you, but I feel like you know every detail anyway. I remember when you were the one telling me to start a blog because you wanted to be able to keep up on everything since my tweets were so vague! Well, look what that turned into... :)

We'll post more pics and news and all that on the blog too so that you can be uber-updated. Oh and BTW-the mailman isn't mad at Chloe anymore-so mail can go back to the house!

Lovely Bridesmaid Attire

Source: Aspiring Couture

I absolutely love this dress by Jesica Milton. The color, the silhouette, and the design are just prefect. This bold piece is perfect for any spring or summer wedding and will definitely compliment the bride with a great contrast of color.

Then there is the bridesmaid bouquet. You have heard me rant and rave about Rosebud Lips in the past, but I am here to do that again! This bouquet is just fantastic. It offers an all white, textured alternative to a real bouquet.

If your wedding dress has flowers or textures, which are quite the trends right now, this bouquet will tie is incredibly well. Mix it with this bold color dress, amazing.

I Can’t Thank You Enough!

Thanks for visiting Engaged and Inspired!

Hello! I want to greatly thank you, my readers, for your unconditional support of me! After reviewing the stats, the traffic has been up and up every single month since the launch. I only care about this because I can see that you guys are really responding to my writing, and that means so much to me! I am getting to know the brides to be and the amazing vendors, and I thank you for allowing me to be in your lives and inspire you!

When I started Engaged and Inspired, I had high hopes and major dreams of where it would lead. But hopes and dreams are one thing, and making those actually happen is a whole other! I was nervous because after having a fashion blog, I definitely know that blogging is not all it's cracked up to be. There are writer's blocks and uninspiring moments, so I was pretty nervous when I would drop this and move on!

This blog is just short of 4 months old, and if anything, I am getting stronger and stronger! My fiance and my friends have been an incredible support to me, these are all people I could never live without. They are amazing. Besides that, it is you guys, my readers, that keep me going day by day! Knowing that someone is listening makes me want to post the absolute best content I can. You make me want to move this blog to new levels and you inspire me.

I want to thank you all so much. There is no special date or reason to do so, I just want to thank you for reading, for interacting and for caring! I am so excited about the new features Engaged and Inspired will have soon. There is so much in store to help brides-to-be and vendors. Engaged and Inspired will revolutionize the wedding industry by adding simplicity and giving the brides and the vendors the resources they need. (Much more to come on that later!)

As far as my WONDERFUL sponsors, I thank you so very much for believing in me as a "new blog" and taking the leap with me! Without your support I can take this blog to the next levels and bring you all with me! I wouldn't be able to do all of this without you, so I greatly thank you :)

When I started Engaged and Inspired we were all engaged to be married. Now we are all planning our weddings, and we are all in eachother's weddings! The first is in May, the second is in September, and the third is next March. I don't know what we used to talk about as more recently it is wedding central! The three of us constantly inspire each other in so many ways, which is the feel that I want my blog to have as well; friends constantly inspiring each other :)

I look forward to many more months and years of friends inspiring friends!

Getting to Know Eachother – Wedding Colors

Hello again! I absolutely LOVED the comments I received from the last "Getting to Know Eachother" post. I feel like we know eachother just that much more now. I was absolutely amazed by the incredibly creative men that are with you all! I couldn't believe some of the stories!

This week I wanted to do something simple yet totally fun! Colors are one of my favorite things. I love all the endless possibilities. I think it is incredible! So I thought it would be fun to talk wedding colors over here on the blog.

What are your colors??

My Turn! As I have alluded to in my previous wedding color post I am obsessed with white. I want to do a lot of white, cream and ivory as the base color of the wedding. But, to mix it up, I want to add some "pop"! I plan on doing this by adding lots of vibrant spring colors such as yellow, pink, orange, purple, etc. etc. and incorporate a bit of zebra print. I know it all sounds very gaudy, but I plan on only adding bit and pieces of color to still keep the class of the white background.

Your Turn! What are your wedding colors going to be??? Feel free to post links to your wedding :)

Mind Your Manners

Top Thank You: Minted, Bottom Thank You: Minted, Left Thank You: Wedding Paper Divas, Right Thank You: Wedding Paper Divas

Sending out thank you notes is definitely proper wedding etiquette. The purpose of doing so is to acknowledge each attendee for actually coming to celebrate your big day with you and often times, bring a gift as well. It is a definitely token of appreciation as though it is your day, and your attendees were happy to come, they still made the effort and be there, and without them your wedding definitely wouldn't have been the same.

As far as gifts go, it is polite and definitely necessary to say thank you after you receive a gift. People don't have to bring you gifts, it is just a nice thing to do. This means that if you have a bridal shower, bachelorette  party, etc. where gifts are given, thank you notes definitely need to be sent after each one of these occasions. To make it easier, designate someone to write the list of who purchased what present to ensure each person gets properly thanked for their present to you two!

It is just plain rude to not send thank you notes and if you think that your guests won't even notice, well you are pretty mistaken then. Guests will definitely notice that you never took the moment to acknowledge their presence and you never said thank you for the gift you purchased for them. Everyone will be happier if they receive some sort of acknowledgment!

Taking the Blog to Baby-Land

Since it is Saturday, I feel like I can sway off the point of my blog a bit (weddings) and go into babyland for a second. I know you brides-to-be are probably so focused on the wedding that babies are not in your mind frame right now, at least that's how I am. I set my "going to be preggers" date and I am leaving it at that. In the meantime, wedding galore! But, whether babies are on your mind or not, this is some pretty amazing photography. I came across this photo shoot done by Amelia Lyon and fell in love with it. It's kind of like the engagement shoot, but for babies. Such a cute idea.  I am most definitely doing one of these!

I would literally purchase and hang that top photo in my house. It is incredible.

I love the vintage romantic just as much. This photo shoot is just darling. I officially LOVE Amelia Lyon.

Then, during my daily pursuing of my blogs, I came across the Onsie Cupcakes from Quintessential Quirks. Well aren't those just darling!! Since I was already planning on taking my blog to babyland for the day, I figured this would be a great addition.

With marriage just around the corners, babies in a baby carriage do come next....How long do you plan to wait after the wedding before getting pregnant???

Getting to Know Eachother! – Proposals

Tina Bass Photography (Love this photo!)

Myself and two of my friends are all getting married. We are all in each other's weddings, and we definitely spend a lot of nights sharing wedding plans and inspiration over wine. I feel like we (the wedding blog world of readers, writers, and vendors) are a close knit group of friends sharing our plans and inspiration minus the wine!  So it's about time to get to know each other!

Each week I am going to post a new question as well as my response. Leave a comment with your story and answer (and a link to your blog or website if you have one) so we can all get to know the people behind this fabulous wedding world!

I'll start with something easy this week (and always a fun one to tell!)

How did he propose???

My answer: December 3rd, 2010 I had a Thursday night off. I had a fashion show coming up in about a week so was in my bedroom looking over all the new clothing I had just received. We had just put up our Christmas tree (he was SO insistent that that tree was up and decorated!) and he kept calling me out to the living room. I came out there and he told me to sit in his lap. He was acting super weird and just kept staring at me. He pulled out the ring box and handed it to me. If he had a speech planned, he was too cute and nervous to say it, and frankly, it was so much for me that I don't think I could even hear what was going on. In the flustered moment that was the proposal, I managed to say yes through the beaming smile, as I just couldn't believe it was happening. I doubted it ever would, and it did! Then I got to open the box and I was pretty darn surprised by the ring. He picked it out all on his own, and it was exactly what I wanted! Looking into his eyes at the moment was the best thing ever.

YOUR TURN! So spill the beans, how did he propose??

Lizzie’s Bridal Shower!

As you may know, Lizzie's bridal shower was this weekend! This is the first time all the Bridesmaids have been together in a very long time, so it was good to see everyone :) We had a little impromptu bridesmaid photo shoot which came out incredibly well!

Next up: Bachelorette Party! Then onto the wedding :)

She is so cute with all the details! She got the amazing sign and the cupcake toppers from Etsy along with a few other additions such as a strand of cloth flags. The whole space was beautiful.

Those cupcakes, which I fully made from scratch, were amazing! They had lots of coconut some chocolate chips and more coconut frosting! So amazing :)

And of course we did all the bridal shower things! We opened presents and played a few games. We did the game where you make dresses out of toilet paper, and we played a game called "what's in your purse?" I've never played it before, and it was super fun!

(How to Play: There is a list of items, if you have them in your purse you pull it out. At the end there is a points system with some items being worth more, and others being worth only a few points! At the end the person with the most points wins!)
