We did an engagement shoot of sorts with the intention of getting a suitable photo for our wedding website. These are a few favorites.
We decided to do RSVPs via the internet to make it easier for everyone. We figure it keeps all the names and song requests in order and in one place online, (so much easier for me!) and people can simply go online and RSVP while at the same time getting all the info for the wedding all in one place.
So, without further ado, check out our wedding website that we have put together for our guests! Introducing www.aprileighth.net
Such a fun and totally urban engagement shoot. Everything from the dress to the props are perfect for fun time at a creative bar space.
From Stephanie A Smith Photography: "Cristina and Matt came down to Florida for the weekend to finalize all the wedding details as well as do their engagement session. Since they are getting married on the beach in April they wanted something completely different for their engagement session. Thus enters Ybor City. Its the perfect urban setting where brick alleys stand next to old cigar warehouses. And Cristina, being half Spanish {even though she has blonde hair and milky white skin :) } was drawn to the history of the location. So we began our journey with a cerbeza at the Columbia restaurant and ended in a grassy oasis a few blocks away. It was a super awesome shoot."
Engagement shoots are wonderful. Engagement shoots with props and outfits and a bit of style are just plain wow. I love the concept of this shoot and the focus that they paid to the details of the shoot. I've been thinking about what to do for our engagement shoot (or even if we are going to do one) because this is the type I totally love. I want details and props and fun things to make the shoot artistic as opposed to "model-y".
Today's lovely engagement shoot comes from the fabulous Chudleigh Weddings. With a gorgeous eye for light and beautiful color, this is one photographer that is at the top of my list. Make sure to check out Chudleigh Weddings on The Inspired List.
This engagement shoot features a gorgeous color palette with a vintage feel. Some small props and great backgrounds make for a selection of photos of such as lovely couple, add in that wardrobe and this one is one for the books!
Shadow Bear Photography is starting the year off right by offering one bride a free photography package! Today's feature is a style shoot by Shadow Bear. This Alice in Wonderland look is playful and flirty and oh so fun. I'm loving this dress so very much. The color palette all together is just dreamy.
One of the best things ever about having a blog is receiving e-mails such as this one," I am a big fan and am super excited every time there is a new post from you." :) Makes your day, doesn't it??? Ok, well maybe not yours but it totally made mine! I get e-mails from brides pretty often who want advice or just want to tell me how much they love Engaged & Inspired. I absolutely love the kind words and I absolutely love sharing what advice I do have about weddings. (I guess this is my informal of way of saying, "Keep 'em coming!) This bride went a step further and sent me her engagement story and photos. I guess she knows just how much of a sucker I am for engagement stories, and I was practically dying inside the coffee shop. SO DARN CUTE!
"My boyfriend and I recently got engaged it was a total suprise he had been planning it for months. I woke up one morning and our entire bedroom was filled with white helium balloons, kinda of felt like what it would feel like to wake up in the clouds. He then gave me a book which he had printed and bound on the cover it said, "Life with a Princess" and it was filled with photos of us from over the past ten years. When I closed the book on the back cover in small print it said "will you marry me" when I looked up he was holding the ring :) He had then organised a long weekend away to our favourite holiday spot and my favourote restaurant. It was a magic weekend that I will never forget."
A new obsession of mine is Joseph West Photography. There is no other way to slice it except to say that this is just some of the coolest photography ever. Such a genius in my eyes! Of course it makes it a lot easier when you have a couple with such swagger as these two do. This is an engagement shoot with such personality and a few added props that anyone would just love to have. This shoot is part engagement, part wedding and part thrash the dress shoot all in one, and those are just the props.
I really can't wait to see the wedding photos.
I'm probably starting a little on the early side when it comes to the wedding bands, especially since I have so many other things to do, but whatever, this part is super fun! I found a few that I really really like so far :) I can only order them online though.
My ring has a square band like this. See, I've been spoiled when it comes to diamonds on the sides of my ring for extra bling. The bands I pick have to have the same so I continue to see that little extra sparkle. Oh, and I am getting two. One for each side. I'm super excited
Our Friday feature is a real treat from One Love Photography. Talk about a photographer I obsess over, One Love Photo is most definitely on the list. This engagement session amongst the trees looks like so much fun to shoot. And when they reach the old abandoned home, it just gets even better.
Oh and from the fashion side of it, her outfits are so marvelous. Simple and chic and all around put together. Lovely
I'm not going to lie, I have a total geek side to me which includes following start-ups and other geeky stuff. This I attribute to both living in Silicon Valley and being engaged to Ian.
I become obsessed the moment I saw this proposal. I mean honestly, what guy really gets this into and this creative with a proposal? It was totally amazing. Oh and I am kind of obsessed with that ring and her face when he proposes. Here is a look at the proposal.
Images are from Dave Morin.
To die for, right? Well, today he launched a site (well, iPhone app rather) called Pathwhich I have been excited about for some time. They included a little promo video on the front page and of course I loved it even more when the finale of the video had a guy with a ring in his hand, ready to propose. :) If you want to watch it, it is below.
I'm excited about the product too. After looking into it a little more I could see this having a ton of potential for the day to day, but also for us brides. This could make planning a wedding a whole lot easier, especially if your bridesmaids are all over the country. You could take photos of dress shopping, picking centerpieces etc. put them on Path, and friends and family will be updated on your plans and ideas. This way only people you want to be involved with the planning will see your ideas. Super awesome.
And of course, I am totally excited to see their wedding. If it is anything like the proposal, it is bound to be epic.
Raise of hands, who is loving this proposal???
