Get This Look: Vintage Barn Reception

I absolutely LOVE this reception look. To me, lighting is absolutely my favorite part to the wedding. I love how they made everything look simple and elegant with that vintage flair. The result is just beautiful!

Mason Jars: 12 for $10 This look is incredibly cheap but Mason Jars really add a lot of vintage flair for a low price. Definitely a worth-while addition to any wedding.

Lights: 100 lights for $6.99 Lighting is amazing. Even something as simple as small white lights can add a lot to any space and make it look absolutely gorgeous. For a low price, you can add some big style to your wedding, lighting is so important and incredibly amazing :)

Bouqet: DIY Darling DIY bouquet! Use these for the centerpieces, the BM bouquets, and even the bride's bouquet. These are so stunningly simple that you might as well same some money and go for these instead!

Monogram Mugs

I definitely have a point behind this post which I will be posting more about shortly! The gist of it is the practicality of using multi-functional items for you wedding, then go ahead and give your house a mini-makeover after the fact! Today, the great house addition is "Monogram Mugs".

These mugs really do add a great addition to any wedding. There are so many things you can do with these and so many ways to enhance your wedding by adding a personal touch! I personally love the idea of using them as planters. So adorable!

Now, what to do with them after the wedding??

These are some decor options for sure, but of course the most practical way to use them after the fact would be to drink your coffee from them! These decor ideas are so cute, and you can keep a little part of your wedding in your home when it is all over!

Creating Wow Lighting - Hanging Lanterns

Definitely something I plan to incorporate A LOT of, hanging lanterns! I will definitely be doing a lot of those little white lights, but hanging clusters of lanterns will give it a different feel and a bit more "wow factor" to the space. And, as I showed in my previous lantern post, I already have a few, and getting more will only cost about $6 each! Not bad.

Does anyone know where to find smaller lanterns or different looking lanterns?? I am also adding lanterns to my centerpieces and I need something on the smaller side.

Love Print Your Party

Some of the newest work from Print Your Party!

The major reason why I love Print Your Party is because you can get all the little paper items that you wanted, but for less money! Printing it yourself saves so much money you would be spending, and the designs as fantastic and innovative!

We used them for our engagement party and for our invitations! They were able to make them how I wanted which was really awesome! These new designs just make my head whirl with new bright ideas for my wedding parties :)

Lizzie’s Bridal Shower!

As you may know, Lizzie's bridal shower was this weekend! This is the first time all the Bridesmaids have been together in a very long time, so it was good to see everyone :) We had a little impromptu bridesmaid photo shoot which came out incredibly well!

Next up: Bachelorette Party! Then onto the wedding :)

She is so cute with all the details! She got the amazing sign and the cupcake toppers from Etsy along with a few other additions such as a strand of cloth flags. The whole space was beautiful.

Those cupcakes, which I fully made from scratch, were amazing! They had lots of coconut some chocolate chips and more coconut frosting! So amazing :)

And of course we did all the bridal shower things! We opened presents and played a few games. We did the game where you make dresses out of toilet paper, and we played a game called "what's in your purse?" I've never played it before, and it was super fun!

(How to Play: There is a list of items, if you have them in your purse you pull it out. At the end there is a points system with some items being worth more, and others being worth only a few points! At the end the person with the most points wins!)

Deep Red Wedding - Captured by Picotte Photography

Does Picotte Photography ever stop with the incredible candid and artistic wedding shots? Apparently not as witnessed by this incredible shoot we have for you today. She just wows me everytime with her wedding features!

The pre-shots of the bridesmaids and groomsmen are priceless. Those gardens are fantastic and quite the "photo setting"!

The deep red roses match her wedding colors perfectly without overwhelming the setting with color.

I really have no words for this incredibly amazing setting. It's just an amazing backdrop for your wedding day!

Again, just no words. The details, the food, the colors, all very rich and very inviting. Quite the amazing reception spot.

And what a great ending to a night! Those embarrassing but priceless photos of guests that end up all over blogs...amazing!

Thanks so much to Picotte Photography for this amazing feature :)

Ps- I loved Picotte so much I used her image as my header. Amazing isn't it?

Some Fresh Centerpieces

SOURCE: SMP

Here are some centerpieces that I really like!

I love the idea of a tray with the numbers leaning against a vase. Plus there is a lot going on in that centerpiece but they all seem to come together!

I want to do do pie favors. My grandma's staple was the apple pie and she taught me all her tricks to making the perfect apple pie. I have sort of taken over this, so I feel like this would be a meaningful favor for guests (not to mention adorable and yummy!) I also thought about doing big square vases too, so I love this tablescape!

Venues Tips

I need a little wedding break so I can get my thoughts together and re-focus my vision BUT I can't re-focus my vision until I find the venue! So the search continues.

After looking at a few venues, I am sick of the time it takes to get any real information. So as brides, what can you do to get the answers you need and fast? Venues need a few details to give you pricing info about their venue. Here are some of the following.

  • What day?
  • Afternoon or night wedding? How many guests?
  • What month? Give a few if aren't completely sure.
  • If they are the sole caterer let them know if you prefer Buffet or Sit Down.

Send over an email with that relevant information and request a quote from the venue. This way you get a final answer instead of trying to figure out and calculate how much you will pay.

What tips do you have for keeping all your inquiries together??? Let me know which other areas you would like tips in as well!
