From the Bride: In planning our wedding we tried to keep our guests in mind as we thought through the details. For Garrett and I, our wedding was a celebration of our love, union, and commitment to each other, but also an experience that we wanted to share with our friends and family. We had guests traveling from all over the country to celebrate "us", so we kept this in mind as we planned our wedding, focusing on the experience that the wedding would provide for our guests. With our wedding being in October, and at an indoor/outdoor venue in the mountains, we realized that the weather could be a gamble, so we provided blankets, heat lamps, and an indoor escape to ensure comfort for the guests, in addition to a fire pit on the pier to allow guests to escape from the celebrations to take in the Lake Tahoe surroundings and warm by the fire. While we lucked out in that the day went entirely as planned, I would highly recommend for brides to have some sort of back up option or weather contingency plan, especially if planning an outdoor wedding. In the weeks leading up to our wedding Lake Tahoe experienced severe fires followed by a snow storm; this definitely kept us on edge, but by having a back up plan to move our ceremony indoors if need be, we were able to enjoy the moments leading up to our wedding, and to not have to worry about the elements (such as weather) that were out of our control. This helped us to relax and just enjoy our whole wedding weekend!
