Lift Me Up
I love balloons. I know they are already quite the trend, but I think they are phenom and wanted to show some of my faves anyway. I definitely want to add this in the engagement shoot and in the engagement party plans!

Going Home
While planning the wedding, I am also interested in finding and moving into a bigger house which will then need to be decorated. So, I want to find unusual wedding items like the above, that not only create a personalized wedding space, but can then go into our house as decor there. It poses an interesting and fun problem as I have to think outside the box a bit, but I am also opening up a realm of decor that isn't normally tapped in the general wedding plans. Plus, I can always be reminded of the wedding and all the different parts by having the details of it as house decor :)
I think I can do it without getting too crazy, so I created a bit of a decor plan for the house as well as for the wedding. So far so good!
Lighting
Gorgeous setting that is both completely romantic and comfortable.
Candles and fireplaces make for a pretty setting while still adding in the romantic atmosphere.
No matter how you do it, lighting will set the mood and create a romantic ambiance for you and your guests. I love everything from candles and little white lights, to lanterns and fire pits. All of these add to the setting and make the space feel warm. So so Pretty!
Love Love Love
Just in time for Valentine's Day, I found this cute shop! Tucker Reece has some great items and some clever designs! Love all these "LOVE" pieces! And you still have time to order some of these cute pieces-she offers priority shipping until Valentine's Day!
You'll be seeing more from here at my engagement party! Pictures to come of those ideas!
Engagement Party Inspiration
My engagement party is set for March 27th! I have so many ideas, and not very much time to excute. Here is the board I created to gather my ideas, but my main problem is finding pictures that resemble my thoughts. It is really hard to find the things that I know I want! I can feel a lot of DIY projects coming up!

Here is a little bit of my planning:
- Dessert table full of adorable mini cupcakes, cookies, cheesecakes, etc. I think it would be great to have a chocolate fountain with some yummy fruits.
- I want to have a tree with blank tags for people to write cute things. Then they can hang them on the tree! Maybe a "wishing tree" or an "advice tree" or a "memory tree".
- I picked most of the menu as well. We are doing heavy hors d'oeuvres and a few signature drinks!
- We are doing it at my mom's house which has a pool, so I plan to get tons of floating candles to put in the pool. There is also a full wet bar so I have great plans to decorate that and make that the "bar" area which will be fun for guests too.
Then I have to find a dress!
Tag Me

Tags and other small paper detail have got to be my all time favorite part of the wedding planning process. They add so much character and can completely make a space unique. I would love to incorporate them into my engagement party decor, so I started the search for some great ones!
These are what I have come up with so far. I don't know exactly how I am going to use them yet, so I can't pick-but what do you think about these?? Cute right?
Wine Corks
This is such an adorable idea! We found these early on in the planning process, and held onto the idea since it is such a unique and fun detail to add to a wedding! Liz is having her wedding at a Winery, so these will fit in perfect with her decor.
I have always been really particular when it comes to table numbers and place cards. I guess it is just because there are so many things you can do with them that it becomes a fun part of the wedding to create Can't wait to see these on the sign in table all lined up. Only 4 months of planning to go!!
Check out the Corkey Creations Etsy shop to get yours! Pictures of the final product are still to come!
Wild Ones
There are two things I love, using everyday things to create a unique wedding experience, and things with character as opposed to perfection.
Garden flowers are quite pretty and add great character where ever used. These types of flowers offer rich colors and imperfect arrangement, gorgeous. These types of flowers fit into my color scheme and portray the "Spring" theme quite well.
Onto the next thing I love, using everyday things to create a unique wedding experience. To me, this is my favorite of anything you can do for your wedding. For one thing, you don't have to end up with tons of decor items after the wedding if you improvise and find things that you can definitely use after (lighting, containers, picture frames, etc. Look forward to more posts on my new everyday finds) Secondly, the unique ideas added to your wedding, the things that define you as a couple, are the things that make your wedding special.
So, how do I plan to incorporate a "tea" jar and some wild flowers? One idea is to get 10 of those jars each marked with a different things and make each the centerpiece. Instead of table numbers, the tables would be labeled "tea" and "coffee" etc.
The other idea is to add those labeled jars to the outer areas of the wedding as decor. Placing them on bar tables during cocktail hour, on the cake table, at the bar, etc. A personal touch without too much focus on it is definitely the way to go!
What personal touches are you adding?
Our Colors
We have been engaged for just short of two months now. With the extreme wedding obsession I am known for having, it would make sense that my wedding would be fully planned, and at one point I thought it was. But after the actual engagement occurred, my head seemed to start spinning with hundreds of ideas, and I couldn't focus it anymore! Here is my first inspiration board of my the wedding. I am sure there will be tons more to follow as I change my plans and add on more ideas and colors.
White Ivory Fuchsia Orange Purple Yellow Gray Zebra print (brown and ivory, not black and white)
Those are the colors of our wedding. I know it is a bit of a mish-mash and I know it might sound a bit crazy, but I definitely know what I am thinking for this one.
Here is my little plan. I love white and I want to incorporate that as much as possible! I want small accents of spring colors for the flowers, paper details, and favors. The dresses will probably be gray. The last thing I want to add is a very small amount of zebra print, maybe on chair cushions, runners, or throw pillows.
I plan to create a "pop" effect with the wedding colors and focus on the small details to bring the whole thing together without overwhelming the space with too much color.
What do you think about the color scheme and ideas so far?? I want to see other brides inspiration boards, so feel free to e-mail them to me. :)
